I just wanted to put my info out there regarding a payment in full I had put on dual BMF's when they first were mentioned.  It only took me over 2 years to get my deposit back after getting the run around from MLS.  I have all the documentation (emails) between MLS, Sue, and myself.

I know that it is illegal for someone in the state of colorado to not refund monies in a reasonable amount of time.  I can't remember the exact verbage, but I had looked it up at one point.

Two years is long but getting your money back must've been sweet. You're the fellow that contacted the CO AG or some other authorities, right? If you've got some time, can you tell everyone what you did, what actions were taken and now long it took from start to finish after contacting the CO AG or whoever it was? Even at this late hour, it might help someone out. Also, what was the deal with Suzanne in all of this? If you can say it here, that's great otherwise I'd like to hear about it via PM or email.

Hello, my name is NOD, and I'm an alcoho... err, umm... a victim of MLS' non-refund practices.

I must admit that I have a large amount of AV123 stuff.  The overall collection:

2 LS-6's
RSC-200
2 Strata Mini's
X-Voce
2 MFW-15's
2 MTM's
2 X-CS's

But I first ordered dual MFW's back in April '08, when Mark had a special 'deal,' by which we would get a discount and he'd use the proceeds to help the employees of the Cali factory.

Unfortunately, after I ordered them, there were excuses upon excuses for delays.  This was followed by yet more excuses, etc etc.

So, in September of 2008, one of the other members of the forum stated that he had 2 for sale in my area, and, given the continued delay, I decided to buy them and cancel my order with Mark.

I notified Mark in Sept 2008 that I was canceling my order, and he said he'd get my refund to me 'soon.'  Since then, I'd imagine we've exchanged 30 (?) emails about it.

It's been promise after promise, excuse after excuse, etc etc

No money, of course...

That's a long ass line you're in. No cutting to the front now!

That's quite a collection you've got there. Out of curiosity, how's the veneer holding up on those? Were the LS-6's from China or Colombia?

They've been helped so much that now virtually no one is working there anymore. You'll be pleased (disappointed) to know that he also scammed people out of 10's of thousands of dollars with the pitch that it would be invested in the Cali operation with the promise of great rewards.

Did he use the excuse that the money was coming from an estate in California?

Boy, I'd love to read some of those if you want to send them to me.

You'd have been more likely to have received subs instead of money. A ballpark figure for what the subs actually cost was around $250 or so each. I hope you make the effort, which isn't all that much IMO, to do the small claims court thing. Also, you can contact both the AG and the Longmont Police (ask for Detective Sloan, Tues-Fri) and just maybe they'll pursue legal action on your behalf (fraud). Small comfort I'm sure, but there are a lot of folks in similar situations as yours.
